Gregory Townson (vocals, guitar) and Todd Bradley (vocals, bass) formed The Hi-Risers in 1998 to play energetic '60s-style rock'n'roll. Jason Smay (drums) joined in 2002. The Hi-Risers have played to enthusiastic audiences in a wide variety of venues, including upscale nightclubs, country joints, blues clubs, punk dives, and outdoor family-oriented festivals. The band has recorded three CDs: Panic, In The Spotlight, and Lost Weekend (2004), and has contributed recordings to three CD compilations. They are currently in the studio recording their fourth disc tentatively entitled The Rock & Roll Beat, which will be released in December 2004. They also started a recording collaboration with guitar/songwriting great Eddie Angel of Los Straitjackets in October 2004.

Todd Bradley and Gregory Townson began their musical partnership nearly twenty years ago. In addition to playing hundreds of shows together and releasing two records with The Essentials and The Salamanders, they have recorded with Rock'n'Roll Hall-of-Famer Hank Ballard, jazz legend Bill Doggett, James Brown's bandleader Pee Wee Ellis, and soul great John Ellison. On stage, they have backed up everyone from Bo Diddley to Delbert McClinton. Townson and Bradley's recordings have been reviewed favorably in Billboard, Guitar Player, Option, Cool and Strange Music, Blue Suede News and many other music publications.
